GENDER TRAINING IN COLOMIBA

During my stay in Colombia I prepared training materials with proposals to introduce the gender perspective into de co-operation and humanitarian action projects. Those materials are focused in a practical approach attending the needs of the APS´ s staff. I those materials are included basic concept of the feminist theory and practical and gender tools from the Spanish Co-operation for Development Agency and ECHO (Gender and Age Marker).
The training sessions were in the headquarters of APS in Popayán, Nariño and Buenaventura.
APS is a feminist organization that already applies the gender perspective in its work. But from ApS Colombia intent to strengthen the capacities of its staff in this issue in order to deepen the think about how transform the power relations between men and women from the communities in which APS intervene so as its work can better contribute to the empowerment of women and to equality between men and women, and this in turn, contribute to social justice.
