Temple Mount or Esplanade of Mosques – Palestine

Located in the Old City of Jerusalem, it is the holiest site in Judaism and also widely considered the third holiest religious site in Islam. It contains the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock whose golden cupola is one of the most symbolic places of Jerusalem.

The Esplanade or Temple Mount is controlled by Israel and tourists can only access the place at certain days and hours and with certain dress regulations through the ramp located by the Wailing Wall (one of the Western Walls of the Temple Mount), remaining on the site with respect. However, only Muslims can enter these two sanctuaries.

Currently, it is one of the most disputed religious sites in the world.
